Knitting Contest

Just ran across a contest one of my fellow KnittingHelp.com knitters is holding.

Sounds like a lot of fun, and the prize is pretty awesome! Check it out!

I've been knitting, although I haven't been posting much about it in my blog. I'm still working on the Pie Are Square shawl (in Grape Hyacinth Shimmer, btw) for my Mom for Christmas. I have only 89 rows to go ... the rows have ONLY 512 stitches, and they grow by 4 stitches every other row. Ack! It takes me about 30 mins on average to do a row. Oh, and did I mention that I also need to add a border to it when all the rows are done. I've never added a border to anything before ... what did I get myself into?

To take a break from the shawl, I've been knitting the 2nd of 5 bags I'm making for some friends who recently had babies. The first one I made (see below) is a hybrid of the Booga Bag and the Oregon Tote. I used Noro Kureyon #95 for this one.

Here's before felting:

The second one I'm knitting is knit completely from the Oregon Tote pattern. I'm using Brown Sheep Co.'s Lamb's Pride worsted, 2 strands held together, and it will be in Jack's Plum and Periwinkle.

And, finally, I'm working on the Quick & Easy Shell for myself in Lime MicroSpun,.

Of course, it's taking me a really long time to get through any of these things because we've started "school" at our house. That means several hours of every day are spent instructing my children, and I love it! We are having so much fun! I think that perhaps I need to start a 2nd blog to journal our educational journey.

Well, thanks for stopping by. Wish I had more pics to post ... maybe I can get some more taken later today of my WIPs.

Oh! I almost forgot ... here's a pic of the dishcloth I made for the KnittingHelp September Challenge.
